25 years together

We have been protecting you on your journeys for a quarter of a century. With craftsmanship, care, and innovation, we have been making travel safer and more reliable. From the heart of Wallachia, with proud employees, who have helped build the history of KSE, we have a clear vision and a commitment to contributing to the region's development and sustainability.

In 2024, Kayaku Safety Systems Europe a. s. (KSE) celebrates 25 years with our Japanese investor. The history of KSE began in 1999 with the mass production of the Plastic Squib, the initiator that itriggers seat belt pretensioners in passenger cars. In 2002, we started serial production of the Micro-Gas Generator and, in 2003, it was production of the GTMS Initiator, which is an indispensable element in the activation and subsequent inflation of airbags.

„For 25 years of operation in the Vsetín region, we have built a strong and stable company that employs nearly one thousand employees. Every day, we help to reduce the impact of traffic accidents and protect the lives of drivers and passengers of cars around the world. Our products are passive safety features, meaning that they do not prevent accidents but reduce their consequences. We can say that most automobiles manufactured by reputable producers contain, on average, at least two of our products”, says the company's president Mr. Akinori Kanno.

With demand increasing for road safety, our portfolio has gradually expanded to include other products that are integral parts of passive protection systems. Thus, in addition to airbags and seat belt pretensioners, our products can now also be found in hood lifters for pedestrian protection, battery disconnectors, and other rescue modules triggered by pyrotechnic initiating elements.

"Behind every piece produced, there are the skilled hands of our employees," adds Mr. Akinori Kanno. The company has its own production plants in Vsetín, located in Jasenice and in the Bobrky industrial zone, and also in Jablunka. It also operates its own Technology Centre for research and development. In 2023, we expanded our plastics production portfolio with the acquisition of VS Plastik s.r.o.

We support charitable and educational institutions as well as cultural and sporting activities.  We have been involved in competitions, events, and projects such as To Work by Bike, Vrchařská koruna Valašska, Let´s Clean Czechia, Czech Cancer Awareness Day, and Pink Ribbon Day. We also supported the construction of a new Food Bank warehouse in Liptal for the Zlín Region. We make significant corporate tax contributions and we are a major employer in the region.
