It is in my hands

Awareness campaign right on the streets of Vsetín

Vsetín will once again be covered in pink. The traditional awareness campaign Pink Ribbon Day, organized by Kayaku Safety Systems Europe in cooperation with patient organizations and other partners, will once again remind people of the importance of breast health care. The program will start in September with an inspiring photo exhibition in the Vatra cinema.

October is celebrated around the world under the sign of the Pink October campaign. Pink is a symbol of femininity, hope and health. The goal of this global initiative is to inspire women to take regular preventive measures and to show that timely self-care gives people control over their own future.

That is why we at Kayaku have also joined the awareness campaign. Since 2014, we have been organizing the so-called PINK RIBBON DAY in Vsetín in cooperation with ZO ONKO-DUHA Vsetín and other partners. This day usually falls on October 15, which is also World Breast Health Day. We take to the streets and try to remind women of the crucial role prevention plays in protecting women's health.

"We will offer the public practical leaflets with clear instructions and, above all, the opportunity to try out the correct self-examination procedure on special models. We emphasize that regular breast care should become a natural home ritual. Early detection of any changes and modern medicine are the most reliable way to full health and a quick return to life," explains the main project coordinator Lenka Ondruchová from Kayaku.

You will find our mobile information stands at the traditional locations:

Exhibition "I am Still Me": Every Scar Has Its Own Story

A big novelty this year is the involvement of the Zlín regional branch of the patient organization Bellis - we help women with breast cancer. Bellis brings together patients who have been diagnosed with cancer. The organization provides them with professional advice, consultations and invaluable psychological support.

For the Vsetín public, "Bellisky" has prepared an emotional and encouraging exhibition of photographs supplemented with personal stories entitled "It is Still Me" and subtitled "Every Scar Has Its Own Story". The exhibition aims to provide hope, courage and show the inner strength of women.

  • When and where: From September 9 to 30, 2026 at the Vatra Cinema in Vsetín, then in October it will move to the Masaryk Public Library in Vsetín.
  • Opening ceremony: Wednesday, September 9 at 4:00 p.m. in the foyer of the Vatra Cinema. The opening will offer a presentation of the entire project and musical accompaniment by the Mladá Jasénka ensemble.

The City of Vsetín has taken over the patronage of this important exhibition.

Don't do it alone - prevention makes sense!
