Childrens´ Summer Camp

During the summer holidays, the children of our employees had the opportunity to participate in a suburban camp, which was held on the premises of the apprenticeship workshops of the J. Sousedík Secondary School in Vsetín. The camp was intended for older elementary school children and its goal was to introduce children to the apprenticeship professions of carpenter, joiner, bricklayer, metalworker, and electrician.

The program was provided by experienced workshop masters, who not only introduced the children to the content of the aforementioned professions, but also allowed them to try working with the tools and instruments that the school workshops are equipped with. The children thus gained a wealth of experience and their parents appreciated their interest in these much-desired professions.

From the parents' reactions:

“A perfect idea, which was completely unique in its content, gave the children the opportunity to experience an environment and work that they would not have a chance to do in their normal lives. Even though, at first glance, it might seem that it is more for boys, the girls were also interested. We appreciated the opportunity to bring a friend with us; this helped our daughter overcome her shyness about the dominance of the boys' group. If the camp is organized again next year and the program is changed so that something different is made, my daughter would go again.”

“Both boys were very excited about the camp. After the first few days they said they would like to go again next year :-). Thank you very much for organizing it. You are amazing!”

“Our daughter was excited about the camp and we parents are also happy that she liked it. I think she didn’t miss anything there, except for a small snack. But she brought some food from home. She tried new activities, met new people, and made some new friends. It was a great experience for her. We both thank you for such an opportunity.”

“My daughter was basically excited, she liked working with wood and, surprisingly, bricklaying :-), of course, other activities too. As a parent, I see this as a meaningful idea, these activities can help some children figure out how to move forward, especially boys.”

“The content of the camp was great. The kids were able to try many types of crafts. Since there was something different every day, activities were varied and the kids didn’t get bored. I think it was very interesting, because my son was excited. The timetable also suited us. Our son didn´t have to spend all day there; just until 2 p.m., which was great. It was also nice that lunch was included. From my point of view it was perfect, thank you very much.”

“My daughter really enjoyed the camp. She enjoyed all the crafts and was happy to be able to take her creations home. And at the end, she received practical gifts from the company. Many thanks to everyone who organized this camp and to the company.”

“I don’t know if my son was the oldest one, but it would probably be a good idea to form groups according to age. He was always way ahead and then he got bored. However, in the end, he rated carpentry as number one. They created the birdhouse. The craftsmen were “cool” and the lunch was very tasty. So, I rate this opportunity for my son going to camp at the age of 14 very positively.”

“A great idea, the boys were satisfied and for me it’s great that they tried out what each craft entails. The workshop environment might have scared some, but it’s good that the children have an idea of what it really looks like in practice. The experts were nice and easygoing – we were very satisfied and thank you!”
